To provide these features, we process your submitted text using AI services and store your learning data in the cloud for synchronization across your devices.

Data You Provide to Us

  • Account Information: Email address when you create an account or sign in via OAuth providers (Google, Apple, etc.)
  • Text Content: The text you submit for analysis (articles, lyrics, dialogues, etc.)
  • Learning Data:
    • Vocabulary and grammar items you bookmark or pin
    • Your practice session results and progress
    • Custom edits you make to AI-generated explanations
    • Your text library and organization preferences
  • Subscription Information: Subscription plan, payment status, and usage limits (managed through RevenueCat)

Data Collected Automatically

Device and Advertising Information

  • Advertising Identifier: Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) for serving advertisements to free users
  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, app version, and language settings
  • Usage Data: Features used, deep analysis count, practice session frequency, and time spent
  • Diagnostic Data: Crash reports and error logs to improve app stability

Data Storage

Your data is stored in the cloud using Supabase services to enable:

  • Cross-device synchronization: Access your texts, vocabulary, and progress on any device
  • Backup and recovery: Protect your learning data from device loss
  • Account management: Secure authentication and account settings

How We Use Your Data

  • Provide Core Features:
    • Analyze text using AI to generate vocabulary, grammar, and cultural explanations
    • Store and organize your text library
    • Track learning progress and practice results
    • Sync data across your devices
  • Manage Subscriptions: Process subscription plans, enforce usage limits (5/30/250 deep analyses per month based on your plan), and provide premium features
  • Display Advertising: Show advertisements via Google AdMob to support the free app
    • Free users see ads at key interaction points
    • Premium and Premium+ subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience
    • In the EEA/UK and regions with privacy regulations, we request consent using Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP)
    • If you do not consent or deny tracking, we show only non-personalized ads
  • Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and develop new features
  • Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries and provide technical assistance
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and enforce our terms

Third-Party Services

Our app uses the following third-party services:

1. Supabase (Backend Infrastructure)

  • Purpose: User authentication, cloud database, data synchronization, and backend services
  • Data Processed: Email address, user ID, submitted text content, learning data, preferences, subscription records
  • Data Location: Servers located in ap-southeast-1 (Singapore) region
  • Privacy: Supabase Privacy Policy
  • Security: Row Level Security (RLS) ensures users can only access their own data

2. AI Analysis Service (POE API - Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite)

  • Purpose: Analyze submitted text to generate vocabulary, grammar, and cultural explanations
  • Data Processed: Text content you submit for analysis
  • Privacy:
    • We do not use your submitted text to train AI models
    • Text is processed for analysis purposes only
    • Refer to POE Privacy Policy

3. Google AdMob (Advertising)

  • Purpose: Display advertisements to free users to support the app
  • Data Collected: Advertising ID/IDFA, device information, ad interaction data
  • Who Sees Ads: Only free users. Premium and Premium+ subscribers have an ad-free experience
  • Privacy: Google's Privacy & Terms
  • Consent:
    • In EEA/UK, we use Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent
    • You can manage consent through app settings or the privacy options form
    • Non-personalized ads are shown if consent is denied

4. RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

  • Purpose: Manage in-app subscriptions across iOS and Android platforms
  • Data Processed: User ID, subscription status, purchase transactions, entitlements
  • Privacy: RevenueCat Privacy Policy
  • Payment Processing: Actual payment is handled by Apple App Store or Google Play Store, not by us or RevenueCat

5. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

  • Purpose: Request permission to track users across apps and websites (required by Apple for iOS 14.5+)
  • Usage: Used for personalized advertising via AdMob
  • Control: You can deny tracking permission; we will show non-personalized ads instead

Note: We do not use general analytics platforms. Usage data is collected only for subscription management and app improvement purposes.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your Personal Data with third parties, except:

  • Service Providers: Third-party services listed above (Supabase, AI providers, AdMob, RevenueCat) that help us operate the Service
  • Advertising Partners: Google AdMob may access advertising identifiers and device information to serve ads (free users only)

  • Safety and Security: To protect against fraud, security threats, or illegal activities

We do not sell your Personal Data.

Your submitted text and learning data are not shared with third parties except for AI analysis purposes.

Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services
  • Learning Data: Stored in the cloud until you manually delete it or close your account
  • Subscription Records: Retained according to RevenueCat's policies and legal requirements (typically for tax and accounting purposes)
  • Advertising Data: Managed by Google AdMob according to their retention policies
  • Diagnostic Data: Retained for a limited period to debug issues and improve stability

Account Deletion: If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or accounting purposes.

  • Access Your Data: View and manage your account information, texts, and learning data within the app
  • Edit Content: Modify or delete your submitted texts, vocabulary lists, and custom notes
  • Export Data: Export your texts and learning records via the export function in Settings
  • Delete Account: Contact us to request account deletion (all data will be removed within 30 days)

Advertising Preferences

  • Upgrade to Premium: Premium and Premium+ subscribers enjoy a completely ad-free experience
  • Android: Go to Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization
  • iOS: Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track"
  • iOS (Ad Personalization): Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → Disable "Personalized Ads"
  • EEA/UK Users: You can manage consent via the privacy options form (accessible through deep link or settings)

GDPR Rights (EEA/UK Users)
